I wrote my thoughts on the movie in two locations online and I am simply copying and pasting the thoughts here. I plan to see the movie again and so maybe my thoughts will change the second time around. But that remains to be seen.

Anytime you love a book(s) you are always going to love the book(s) more. Once again I was entertained with the movie and yet still disappointed in the horrible acting...why is this a surprise after 4 movies I don't know. However, I did like many of the lines from the book they kept, lines added, scenes done, etc. I will say a word of warning if you haven't read the book....stop here. This movie/book is for mature audiences. It's not like the first 3 movies. I firmly recommend age 14 and older. There is hf in this movie. There is a bloody birth scene...not gross...but blood and again it's a book/movie designed for older teens and adults. It's not a movie for 10 years old IMO. however, you can read the book and if they have read the book and you are fine with the material and they understand the material then you will all enjoy the movie. I say this because a parent last night was there with a son about the age of my youngest and I think they were surprised about the content (most likely didn't read the book).
Now for those that know the story/book:
I enjoyed the addition of a scene or two that were not in the book but seemed natural to be there. (hint fighting). I did enjoy the addition of the wedding toasts to the mix too. I LOVE her wedding dress! I was highly disappointed they altered the wolves voices when they were all talking in their heads together. It would have been just fine to be their normal voices. That part irked me and made me have to reset my focus on the movie again. But good thing its easy to get into the movie with so much intensity that occurs after the happy wedding. Did everyone notice the white & white chess set in the honeymoon scenes! Awesome...keeping the cover of the book in the movie. The movie ended...exactly as I thought and predicted (this is not a book thing people I mean the visual on screen). I also liked the mini scene after the first set of credits to set up the next movie with the motivation that is truly driving the Volturi.
Overall I enjoyed the movie, I was emotional sucked into it. I need to and will see it again in the theater soon. I think for me it will be like the book, I liked it better the second time through.

After thinking about it all day I decided I just need to see it again to truly judge it. When I first read the book I didn't like until the second time I read through it when I could read it slowly and actually look into the details of the story. For the movie I was impressed with the way some of the scenes were done. The scene you are waiting for throughout all the books was done nicely, it wasn't dirty or gross, it was love. It's hard to please everyone in the audience, especially those that have read the books. But at this point I am just ready for all the movies to be done and so I can move forward from my twilight obsession and maybe move onto to something else. It's the same way I felt when Harry Potter was done. While I love the books, movies, and even the lego Wii games I was glad it was done. And ending is there and I don't have to obsess over waiting for the rest of the story to be on the big screen. I can enjoy it more now that I can pick up any of my movies or books and read with pleasure and enjoyment. So I am hoping the same comes to me for twilight. Really in the end the movies are for teenagers and if you are a teenager I guess you don't notice the directing, editing, soundtrack use, acting (and lack of). So as far as teenage targeted movies it was good and I will go Monday night to see it again.
